In 2015 I visited the Himalayas and was touched by the lives of the people in the mountains and the extreme conditions which life there entails. Monasteries form an integral part of Tibetan life because they provide education, healthcare, food and support for local communities. They are the 'hub' of mountain life.
I chanced upon an opportunity to raise money for those people through the Himalayan Cafe in Edinburgh and will be performing songs from the new album ‘Of These Lands’ with an evening of music and food for the soul on the 2nd of June.
Friday 2nd June
The Himalayan Café
20 South Clerk Street
To raise funds and awareness for the Akong Rinpoche Foundation - which is named after the founder and means 'precious one'.

Here's a recording of a Little Daylight In - which will be on the new album. This was recorded in the deep dark and cold month of January at the excellent New Hellfire Club's record shop in the Hidden Lane in Glasgow..
As the the last few days of 2015 drained away into the dark December night, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to perform and be filmed within an iconic Glasgow building. This former Royal Mail sorting office in Cubie Street provided the ideal opportunity for playing a few songs in an atmospheric environment and cool December light, filmed by Glasgow's Beaten Track Productions. If anyone is looking for a fantastic space for their business - check out www.cubiestreet.com if it is not occupied soon I i think it will become a fantastic gig venue. More songs to follow...
Looking forward to starting 2016 with a show at a sold out Edinburgh Blues Club night , opening for Paul Jones & Dave Kelly. Bring it on!
Just in case anyone missed it, the youtube video to Lorna Reid's Smash Gamble is below. I was extremely please to be asked to join Lorna Reid during her set for STV Edinburgh. We recorded 4 songs in a very hot and stuffy studio and it was great to meet the team behind the cameras. Not all songs have been broadcast yet, so in the meantime here is the video for Smash Gamble.
